Saumur Blanc from Langlois-Chateau in the Val de Loire wine region of France is a full-bodied, elegant and varietal white wine vinified from Chenin Blanc.
In the glass this wine has a light straw yellow with shimmering reflections. Intense aromas of exotic fruits – especially passion fruit – juicy peaches and floral notes of white flowers enchant the nose. On the palate, the prelude starts off spicy at first, then develops into a lovely full-bodied fruitiness. The pleasantly long finish is accompanied by notes of citrus fruits.
Aged on fine lees for 4 to 6 months with batonnage or stirring until bottling in the spring. It shows citrus notes and exotic fruits on the nose and palate.
This subtle and elegant wine will be the perfect companion for fish, cooked or raw mussels, asparagus … as well as some hard cheeses.
