Region/Appellation: Medoc, Bordeaux
Château Potensac has a long family history. In fact, this estate has belonged to the Delon family for a very long time and has always been handed down from generation to generation by the women of the family. Today, the estate is run by Jean-Jubert Delon, who keeps it from his paternal grandmother Georgette Lycard.
Château Potensac is generally recognized as one of the classified wines of the Médoc appellation. In addition, it is the only one, under the 2003 classification of Crus Bourgeois of the Médoc appellation, that is classified as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel. La Chapelle de Potensac was created and launched by Jean-Hubert Delon in 2002. This elegant second wine, made with respect for tradition, has a very good balance based on roundness and freshness.

Varieties: 56% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot
Tasting characteristics:
The vineyard of Chapelle de Potensac is composed as follows: 56% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The yield is around 44 hectolitres per hectare and is planted on typical clay-limestone soils for this appellation. After vinification, cultivation lasts ten months and is carried out in oak barrels. The result is a very well-balanced Medoc, roundness and freshness. Like all second wines, it becomes ready to drink earlier to let its older brother age.Upon tasting, this wine expresses all its freshness and finesse and certainly less power than its big brother. The characteristic fresher fruit profile allows it to reach its peak earlier.
