249.00 лв.
Region: Burgundy

The largest of the nine Gevrey-Chambertin Grands Crus. The grapes are from a 12,24 ha vineyard. The Charmes-Chambertin climate produces rich and elegant wines that show restrained power. An incredibly soft wine with a beautiful aroma of ripe fruit that is characteristic of the appellation.
Varieties: pinot noir

Tasting notes:

Jérôme Castagnier is the fifth generation, although passing through the female line has changed the surname. Founder Jules Séguin was succeeded by Albert Rameau, then by Gilbert Vaday, a military man who developed the business working closely with Alexis Lyschin. Guy Castanier, born in Algeria, married Mademoiselle Wadi and began working at the Domaine in 1975. Since 2004, the wines have been bottled as Domaine Castanier. Jerome, the only son, did not initially intend to join the family business, instead becoming a professional trumpet player in the Republican Guard. In 2004, he left Paris and the army and returned to Maury-Saint-Denis.

On the nose, the wine needs time to develop, but there is a rich thread of dark fruit throughout the palate, resulting in a delicate tannic finish.

The finish is long, and this will make a great bottle in a decade.

Perfect pairing with veal, terrine, game and duck.
