Prats § Symington Post Scriptum 2018
Region: Douro
Grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Baroca, Tinta Roriz
The origin of the grapes from Quinta de Roriz, picking between 9 September and 5 October. Hand sorting is carried out on a sorting table, after which the grapes are separated from the stems before undergoing a second mechanical selection, berry by berry, before being carefully crushed. The grapes are then transferred to the fermentation tanks, where fermentation takes place at around 25ºC. The maceration is very gentle and regulated in such a way as to produce a wine intended for earlier consumption, but nevertheless with a great capacity to age in bottle. Aged for 13 months in 400l French oak barrels.
The wine has a deep garnet centre with a bright velvety red edge. On the nose, aromas of plums and attractive resinous notes are revealed. On the palate it is luscious and fills the mouth with rich pure and compact black fruits, combined with nuances of minerals and spice, highlighted by fine acidity.
This wine is a great accompaniment to red meats, roast beef and grilled meats.
