It’s hard not to love Chenin Blanc; given its diversity of styles from lean, dry whites and aromatic sparklers, to sweet golden nectars as well as rich brandies. Chenin Blanc is a versatile white-wine grape variety that has been cultivated in France for nearly 1300 years. It is most commonly associated with France’s Loire Valley. The backbone of the dry, off-dry and sweet wines of the Loire, from Bonnezeaux to Quarts de Chaumes to Vouvray and Savennières, Chenin Blanc’s versatility is also prized worldwide, producing some of South Africa’s finest white wines.
