Haras de Pirque Albaclara Sauvignon Blanc 2021
Region: Central Valley
Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc, a grape variety with an important personality, is fully expressed in selected areas of the world, among which are traditionally noted the Loire Valley, New Zealand and Friuli and, more recently, in Chile, especially the coastal zone of Leyda. Albaclara is a pure Sauvignon Blanc whose grapes are hand-picked in the vineyards of Leida.
The name of the wine is inspired by the beautiful dawns that rise over the vineyards.
Cooler than average temperatures, cloudy weather during the day and moderate temperature fluctuations during the ripening phase gave the wine herbal and citrus sensations and a lively freshness. The picked grapes are removed from the stems and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for 12 to 15 days at low temperature to preserve the freshness of the grapes. The wine is left to age on the fine lees and delicate transfers are made every two weeks from the bottom of the vat to the top. Albaclara was bottled in July 2020. On the nose it expresses mixed citrus aromas and hints of white jasmine blossoms.
Pleasant acidity and mineral sensations give the wine excellent persistence and a fresh, mineral finish.
It is great to enjoy on its own or in the company of spicy Thai or Indian dishes, as well as mussels and oysters.
