The soils contain granite particles, stones and limestone. The wines produced in the ‘Grandes Vignes’ area, where granite predominates, have a magnificent minerality and tannic structure.
This part forms 30% of the aperture ratio. Wines coming from stony soils (the ‘Greffieux’ area) are rich in aromatics and complex. They form the structure with 60% participation in the aperture. The wines from the limestone soils of the Muret area add elegance and finesse to the blends.
Thus, each of the three elements contributes to different characteristics in the finished wine.
