The Saint Joseph terroir is mainly composed of granitic soils. The vineyard stretches for 40 km along the right bank of the Rhone. Since the first vintage in 2007, a balance has been sought in the wine, using grapes from the north of the appellation to bring minerality and fruit, and from its heart for structure. Blending creates a distinctive wine with excellent balance.

Maison Les Alexandrins Saint-Joseph Rouge 0.75 2021 has an attractive dark ruby colour. The nose is extremely rich with a bouquet of candied red fruit – cherry, almond, spices, delicately expressed vanilla. The palate is intense with soft tannins, freshness and flavours of vanilla, toasted bread, candied fruit, spice and pepper typical of Syrah. The finish is long with a pleasant bitterness. An extremely elegant wine with huge potential for development. Suitable for pairing with grilled red meats and small game.
